Ahhh!! This post made me very, very happy. Albert has converted me into a lu rou fan person and he's fond of saying that this would be his last meal on earth. Yet it's sometimes hard to persuade visitors to understand its greatness when they come to taiwan, as lard on rice doesn't quite have the right ring. So this post is such act of public service, haha. Thank you!!

also, this made me laugh: "I was horrified by her story, picturing a bowl of room-temperature rice with pasty white fat sitting on top and thinking 'wow poor mom' and 'i’m so lucky' and 'i better eat my vegetables.'"
